Q. |
I just registered a new domain name. How long until I can use it?
A.
New domains and changes to domains may take up to
4-8
hours for .COM and .NET domains and about 24-48 hours for
all other domain extensions to become effective. This is due
to the number of networks involved, and the fact that those
networks are controlled by several different agencies. This
delay applies to all domains and all Registrars. Please allow
for this delay when planning Web sites or configuring a
domain to work with your email.

Q. |
What do I do with my domain once it's been registered?
A.
Thank you for purchasing a domain name
registration! Now that the registration is complete, you have a few options on
how to put your domain name to use.
Do you have a Web site already designed for your new
domain name?
If your Web site is complete, follow these instructions
to get your site on the Internet.
· Acquire a
hosting account. · Modify your
domain name servers (DNS) to the addresses
provided by your hosting provider. (Example:
ns1.host-everything.net
ns2.host-everything.net)
· Upload your Web
site to the Internet.
Did you register this domain name as an investment and
wish to sell it?
Domain names can be a great investment. If you have
registered a domain name that you are not using, maybe
someone else can! Go to the Account Manager and set up a For Sale parked page for your domain name. Don't forget to include your contact information!
Did you register this domain name because it is similar to your other domain names?
The more domain names you register, the better. Prevent
others from registering a similar domain name to yours
– just to steal away your customers! What to do with all these names? Forward them to your main domain name!
Do you want to wait to use your domain name?
Maybe you haven’t decided what to do with your new domain name. Don’t worry – there’s no rush. You can leave it parked with Host-Everything.net for the length
of your registration.

Q. |
How do I use free domain locking?
A.
Although your domains are already securely
managed, this free option allows you to lock your domain at the Registry level.
While in this state the domain registration cannot be transferred, nor can other
aspects of the domain be altered (such as your domain's name servers, contact
information, and ownership).
When a domain is locked you cannot modify the name servers or contact
information. If you need to update name servers or other information, please
unlock your domain name first. Selected domains will be unlocked within 15
minutes.
To lock or unlock your domain name:
Step 1:
Log in to the
Host-Everything.net Account Manager.
Step 2:
Select Manage Domains from the Domain Names dropdown menu or the
Manage Your Account list.

Step 3:
Select the domain name you wish to modify by checking the box next to it, then
click the Set Locking button.

Step 4:
Select the radio button for Locked or Unlocked and click the
